Revenue Cycle Management

The challenge

This was a joint venture between the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and Optum to produce a SaaS payment validation (Revenue Cycle Management) tool that ensured hospitals in Abu Dhabi charged healthcare providers correctly and on time. It encompassed a workflow element where administrators could delegate work to assistants and get back data regarding late payments and performance. We had a multi-geographical team from Minnesota, Florida, the United Kingdom, Hyderabad, and Abu Dhabi, and we delivered the final tool on time and within budget.

My role
To work with business analysts to distil business requirements into user journeys and data-driven user interfaces.

My tasks
I created initial wireframes that I mapped onto the user journey, enabling the team to collaborate and see and move elements from a landscape viewpoint. I used tools such as Axure, HTML, CSS, and Javascript to provide interactive prototypes of individual aspects of the user journey, then pulled it all together into an end-to-end testable prototype. I worked closely with the development team, underpinning this application using business process modelling.
