Desktop portal application
The challenge
HSBC Global Asset Management needed a desktop portal to serve as a one-stop shop for users to perform their daily tasks. The goal was to enhance collaboration between users and groups globally, provide a corporate social networking experience, manage data, and offer personalised user experiences through the portal.
The main challenge was to create a desktop application that could stimulate global collaboration, integrate social networking features, and manage data efficiently, all while being scalable and personalised for each user.
My role
To produce a downloadable desktop application that will get second-round funding based on the outcome of this discovery work.
My tasks
I wireframed and presented initial concepts to stakeholders, showcasing the potential scalability. Using Expression Blend in C#, I created a desktop prototype that interfaced with internal SharePoint repositories and integrated social networking elements. My work culminated in a presentation that secured second-round funding.
Outcomes
The project achieved a 100% global rollout across asset management desktops, successfully driving enhanced collaboration and personalised user experiences.
